Im more than a beginner by now I guess. Ive been doing this for a few years, and people seem to like some of my carvings, so I thought I would come here and show them off. Id love to hear likes, dislikes and suggestions about how to make my art better. All comments are welcome.
Please do me a favor. I am in no way interested in trading favs.... Please do not just randomely Fav one of my pieces in an attempt to get me to fav one of yours....Its not going to happen. If I like your work I will comment on it and or fav it. If you like something of mine let me know why...or at least have the decency to look at the rest of my work. I do do a lot of pretty cool stuff. Im not going to come comment on yours just because you faved a piece of mine the second I displayed it.

This is a modified form of a poem written by someone else. The writter was a classmate of mine whom I can not remember the name only that it was written some time in the early to mid 80's at Watertown JHS. Everything past Rocks is mine
Have you ever seen that big black hearse go by?
And wondered if you'd be next to die?
They'd put you in a big black box
and cover you with little rocks....
A wasted life, a wasted scream, a wasted world, full of wasted dreams.
All left behind so that you could sleep, that ever peaceful, endless sleep.
Is there a chance that you'd ever wake? or is one life, too much to take?

So where do I go from here. I think I have cutting out profiles down to an art. But that is not carving. Not really. How to I go from 2 dimentions to three in my art? Im not a sculpter...perhaps I need to get some clay and practice? 3D immagry is so much more complicated. Ive no idea how to break into that skill set I am too analitical. I am trying to do layered profiles now...like the tudor rose and the dragon I am working on...but these layers do not really constitute a 3 dimentional carving its more like one 2d on top of another. Sharkbean one of the carvers I watch can do 3D... She is very good at it. Im just wondering what I

You Know I am right!

I have discovered that during those rare times that I might be wrong, If I think I am wrong and it turns out to be true, I am in fact wrong. And then, when I think I may be wrong but was not,what sucks is that I am essentially still wrong! So, It has come to me that the only way to actually be right...Is to just assume I am right all the time!!! In the end that just makes the most sense. Just face it you know Im right!
